Freeride-Ski Tour: one week, one mayen, in the Verbier and Val-de-Bagnes Backcountry
The experience
The mayen as base camp: a genuine alpine chalet, quiet, from which you fan out onto the summits of the Verbier and Val-de-Bagnes Backcountry. Morning coffee facing the mountains; back to the mayen after the last descent. No impersonal hotel, no queues. A mountain rhythm, a small team, and a guide who builds the week around the group and current conditions.
The program is deliberately flexible: the guide plans each day based on avalanche bulletins and snow quality. You can choose a more freeride rhythm, more ski touring, or a balance of both. More challenging or more relaxed goals — the guide adjusts the rating of each outing. The itinerary below is a typical example.
Calculator: indicative price per person
The guide fee (fixed for the group) is split across participants. The larger the group, the lower the price per person.
Choose the length of the stay (3 to 7 nights). A full week (7 nights, Saturday → Saturday) is the smoothest format, but you can shorten it for a long weekend.
Choose how many days are led by the IFMGA guide. The remaining days stay free: resort skiing, self-guided outing, rest.
The lodging price depends on the week you choose. School-holiday weeks (Christmas, New Year, February) are higher. The figure above uses the standard winter week rate.
